Consultations

Take a fresh look at the familiar

An on-site landscape and garden consultation is a great way to get a new perspective on your outdoor spaces. After a two to three hour consultation I will leave you with thought-provoking ideas, sketches for spatial and structural layouts, plus suggestions for different trees, shrubs and perennials.

There are many reasons to schedule an on-site consultation. Perhaps you are looking for new and insightful ideas as you begin the journey of creating a new garden. Or maybe you want to reshape your current garden, and have questions such as how to soften a steep slope or how to rework an area where plants have become disorganized and crowded together. Possibly you need advice on practical gardening problems, such as how to control weeds, improve your soil, prune your shrubs or divide your perennials.

I bill all on-site time at $75.00 per hour with a two hour minimum. I charge for my time to drive to and from your home at $0.50 per mile.

A consultation to initiate a landscape design or planting plan

An in-depth consultation is the starting point if  you want either a landscape design or a planting plan.  First you tell me about your desires and concerns and then we discuss potential solutions and the scope of your design project.

I will take the site measurements I need to create scale drawings, including the house footprint and all the landscape features for the area of study. I can also pull some or all the measurements from any existing plans you have available.

Furthermore, if you are not sure whether or not you want to invest in a landscape design or planting plan at this time, I suggest we schedule an on-site consultation and spend a couple of hours brainstorming about both the long- and the short-term possibilities for your garden.
