A Small Courtyard Garden
The flowers and fence enhance the picture of the house when seen from the road
This compact easily-maintained garden space, just 24 feet square, was designed specifically so that the gardener who wanted to sit outdoors surrounded by her flowers.
The courtyard center features an irregular cut-bluestone patio which becomes the path to the front door as well as an intimate sitting space, surrounded by her flower beds.
The courtyard is contained on two sides by the wrap-around porch. A low fence across the front and along most of the fourth side connect the house with the garden while maintaining the privacy of those in the courtyard. Flowers spilling through the fence complete the picture.
Flowers abound both outside and inside the fence.
The patio also creates a path to the front door
